App and developer

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is immediate and needs nothing from us.

  1. Open WildEcho and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Open Account.
  3. Choose Delete account.
  4. Confirm twice. The second confirmation is deliberate, because this cannot be undone.

Or ask us to do it

Email support@blueharboursolutions.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject "WildEcho account deletion". We action these within 30 days and normally within two business days.

What is deleted

All of it, permanently:

  • Your account and sign-in details
  • Your saved library of identifications, including photos and recordings attached to them
  • Your trips and journal entries
  • Your pets and their details

What is kept, and why

One thing, and only if you explicitly chose it. If you contributed a recording to the WildEcho research library, that recording stays. Your name and account are removed from it and the location is made approximate, so it is no longer linked to you. This is what makes the library useful to other people, and it is why contributing is asked for separately rather than assumed.

If you would rather a contributed recording were removed as well, email us and say so. We will remove it.

Anything on your device

Deleting your account removes what we hold. Anything cached on your phone goes when you delete the app, or immediately with Reset app in Settings.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription, because Apple and Google hold that, not us. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, otherwise it keeps renewing.
